The latest FEATURED EDITION for Blue Fig has been a series of woodcuts by Mike Martino.
In “Featured Edition” we will take a look at one edition specifically and review the creative process as well as the technical process. This should offer an insight as to the artist side as well as the printmaking side. Mike has set out to do a series of smaller wood cuts on 12″ x 12″ paper to push his landscape ideas and push the use of space color and texture. In this series Mike steps back to look and a more distant view of landscapes and emphasizes the rhythm and harmony in landscape.
I just added a few more examples here of some new pieces from this series. I also now combining woodcuts with some screen prints for this series.
